Since you guys are loving all the restaurant ideas Since you guys are loving all the restaurant ideas and reviews I’m doing on Reels🎞 I figured I’d add this beautiful courtyard into the mix as brunch inspiration for this weekend — the 3 Arts Club Cafe inside #Chicago’s Restoration Hardware. You’ll be instantly transported to Tuscany with citrus trees, running fountains and that opulent chandelier! No plane ticket necessary! Who wants to dine here?! ✨🌿 // #ChicagoRestaurants #AlanaInChicago

Winter may be having a relapse in #Chicago today, Winter may be having a relapse in #Chicago today, but we’re rolling a little closer to spring each day bc it’s March! Usually March is a mixed bag in Chicago and anything goes weather wise — snow, rain, giant storms, heat waves... this is the month to have all clothing options at the ready! Do not, I repeat, DO NOT put away the giant jackets just yet! As the biker in this shot demonstrates, with the right layers you can master everything this month throws at you! ♥️ // #SpringIsComing #AlanaInChicago Are you over winter? Or are you secretly hoping for one more snowfall?! (It’s ok, I won’t tell anyone 🤫)

Another reason to look forward to springtime in #C Another reason to look forward to springtime in #Chicago — @navypierchicago reopens!! Love or hate the touristy vibes here, there’s no denying that this place can be A LOT of fun for locals and visitors alike! My favorite things to do here include riding on the giant ferris wheel (can you spot it peaking out in this shot?) 🎡, taking a high speed boat ride on Lake Michigan, chowing down on a churro, and enjoying the amazing skyline views all around (but especially at @drinkoffshore’s gorgeous patio!) Have you been to Navy Pier?? Do you like coming here as a local or do you wait to go until you have visitors in town? ♥️ // #NavyPier #AlanaInChicago

Today’s #FunFactFriday is about the mighty Chica Today’s #FunFactFriday is about the mighty Chicago river! Did you know that Native Americans traversed the river for hundreds of years before the arrival of the first Europeans? The Algonquian people called the river “Checagou,” a reference to a smelly wild leek that grew along its bank. And you guessed it, that’s exactly where the name Chicago comes from — a smelly ‘ol leek! 🧅🙊 // #ChicagoRiver #AlanaInChicago Did you know where the name “Chicago” came from? How about the “Windy City” nickname??

Remember when @cntraveler did their #worldfromawin Remember when @cntraveler did their #worldfromawindow series when covid first started and we “traveled” through each other’s window views?? This is my contribution for #Chicago. If you haven’t been yet, I hope this scenic river view inspires you to visit one day! ✈️🏙 // #RoomWithAView #AlanaInChicago Have you been to Chicago?? Where’s your favorite “room with a view” in the city? (Ps, this shot was taken at the beautiful @sheratongrandchicago)

I really love finding underrated spots right next I really love finding underrated spots right next to popular tourist attractions... yes, it’s fun to get the “must see” photos, but I find that I treasure memories from the lesser-visited spots because they’re usually less busy and I can enjoy them in peace! So I figured I’d do a list of “lesser photographed” spots in #Chicago’s @millennium_park to give you some inspo for your next visit! Let’s go... 1️⃣ Millennium Monument (pictured here) - I bet you’ve seen a million photos of Chicago’s famous Bean but few of the Millennium Monument. The curved row of columns here makes for a wonderful photo backdrop! 2️⃣ Chase Promenade South - I love this short stretch of the park for photos because there’s usually a cool public art installation to photograph! 3️⃣ Nichols Bridgeway - this elevated walkway is super underrated; you’ll be high enough off the ground to have a stunning skyline backdrop for your shots! What are your “hidden gem” photo spots in this area (or in your city)?? Do you go for lesser-visited spots when you take photos or are you chasing the classic ones? 📸♥️// #ChicagoPhotography #AlanaInChicago
